Dodi and Diana will be arriving in Paris soon and the ghouls are all assembling in anticipation of something happening. Some of them are just on the make ready to do whatever they are told, whilst others have much more defined agendas. The book is reminiscent of Ellroys American Tabloid trilogy where all of the characters are just mere pawns of greater forces, some of which are known and some of which will never be known. The plot makes as much sense as the actual events on which it is based - which is not a lot. However, the confusion is all deliberate on the part of the author. Just roll with it and you won't regret it.
