This clay is not super fine. However, the "gravel" is just clumped up clay, not rocks. At first I was discouraged because I needed a smooth clay to make soap. But then I used a fine mesh sieve to separate the clumps. I then processed the clumps for 10 seconds in my nutribullet cup. Presto! The clumps easily ground down to a super fine powder which I sieved again. I lost about 2 tablespoons out of the whole bag. It was too little to reprocess, so I tossed it. The whole process took me less than ten minutes. Considering the super low cost, it was well worth the extra 10 minutes. My soaps have the prettiest pink color! I use only natural colorant in my soap, and soap-makers know that colored clays do not fade or change over time. Give it a try. I will definitely be buying this clay again.
