This album was exceptionally strong from the Yip-yips. I actually listened to the Yips new album Bone Up before I ever got into their old music. And what can I say? I highly enjoy their previous work as I do their newer stuff. I was surprised to hear how hip-hop this one got as compared to their other albums. Nonetheless, I can say this album made me appreciate the synth and keyboard much more. I don't know if I'd necessarily call it Synthpop but you know how the Yip-Yips are, they are so experimental they usually show up under different genres on your media player every time you download something new by them. The last track, familyman conundrum was amazing. I found it to fit the album very well but it stuck out as the best because it made a lot of sense musically. The breakdown of this album is beautiful, as it seems to go more hip-hop at somewhere near the end of the album, that's what I inferred when I heard a voice of Afro descent scream things like "Yo yo yo." And speak more ebonic tongue. While the last track does not have any hip-hop in it I thought it was the best from the album. Thank you, Yip-Yip.
